RICE FIELDS OF JAPAN - art even in their fields
Stunning crop art has sprung up across rice fields in Japan , but this is no alien creation. The designs have been cleverly planted.
Farmers creating the huge displays use no ink or dye.
Instead, different color rice plants have been precisely and strategically arranged and grown in the paddy fields.
As summer progresses and the plants shoot up, the detailed artwork begins to emerge.
Napoleon on horseback can be seen from the skies.
This was created by precision planting and months of planning by villagers and farmers located in Inkadate , Japan .
A Sengoku warrior on horseback has been created from hundreds of thousands of rice plants.
The colors are created by using different varieties. This photo was taken in Inakadate , Japan .
From ground level, the designs are invisible, and viewers have to climb the mock castle tower of the village office to get a glimpse of the work.
Closer to the image, the careful placement of the thousands of rice plants in the paddy fields can be seen.
Rice-paddy art was started there in 1993 as a local revitalization project, an idea that grew from meetings of the village committees.
The different varieties of rice plants grow alongside each other to create the masterpieces.
In the first nine years, the village office workers and local farmers grew a simple design of Mount Iwaki every year.
But their ideas grew more complicated and attracted more attention.
In 2005, agreements between landowners allowed
the creation of enormous rice paddy art.
A year later, organizers used computers to precisely plot planting of the four differently colored rice varieties that bring the images to life.

V Day Picnic with Cole
Yesterday Colee' and I headed out to Cayucus for a little picnic fun in the sun. It was a beautiful day mid 70s and a light breeze. As we headed up to the top of the hill we heard a voice yell "Cory" sure enough it was Trevor Adams lounging on his patio soaking in the breath taking view of studios. ( I thought to myself man am I really that easy to spot out)
We scouted out the best picnic spot and then we set up shop. Colee had the bottle popped before I could even get the blanket down( picnic secret #12 use forks to hold down blanket in the wind) A little gift exchange and straight to creating sandwich perfection.I must say a day of lounging in the sun never felt so good....
happy Valentines day

dead poets
out and the Mexican food was epic, thanks for the tequila shots trev. Thursday we headed north on State St. to a killer new store called Hempwise. Free music, live art oh and how could I forget free beer and wine . I had a blast doing live art on the street I even made a couple of fresh t-shirts for a couple lucky viewers. I see great things in the future for dead poets and look forward to working with them again very soon... check out a couple of my favorite shots.
